two things:
1) I love the BBC.

2) If you had one-million dollars, what would you do?
chiquita:
if i had one MEEL-lion dollars, i would....

hey man...wait a minute...in today's global economy, that really is piddly shit.

nonetheless, i would pay off my formidable student loans, invest a bit, and then have nothin but fun with the rest...traveling and such.

peace and good stuff to you, steve...my subscription is about over. it is time.

now, go save the world, you!

I've really not done a whole lot so far this week. Done a lot at work and things there are going pretty well, but I just kind of look at my job as something I do to allow me to do what I really want to do. Lately, all I've wanted to do is kind of Veg out.

What's Playing: Rid of Me by PJ...

If you and your ten children were in a desert and across the sand from you was someone else with their ten children...

and if that person was wearing full body armor and helmets and gloves and was heavily armed...

and if that person so heavily armed was even still, sitting inside a tank... a state of the art impenetrable tank...

and if all you...

Ideology: as viewed through the texts of Marx and Mannheim

The political and social world around us was not created, nor is it sustained, by innate reflex. It is the construction, the situation, the product of the actions of individuals. These actions, occurring within this social arena, and to a great extent, without, are shaped, to varying degrees, by some form of thought. In a...

Finishing up my paper tonight on Marx and Mannheim. 24 pages so far, would like to have 6 more done by the time I crash. Its been a blast but I really am kind of sick of it at this point. As always though, it'll be posted on here so if anyone has any trouble sleeping, or feels so...

Had a big party. Went really well. Met a girl who has to be the smartest twenty y/o I've ever met. The more she talked, he more I liked her. She was so impressive. I want to talk with her again.

Everyone was finally gone at 6am.

Now it's back to the grind. Been fucking off way too much over the last few days. I...

Thursday morning at around 8:48 the shitty music played at the folks where I work was interupted for an announcement saying something to the effect of "we would like for everyone to stop what they are doing at this time and pause for a few moments as we have a moment of silence to remember the tragic events of September 11th."

Which was kind of...

The gloves are coming off.

Just found out that one of my best friends, a guy I have the utmost respect for, a guy I competed with all throughout my undergraduate degree, is doing some post-grad work in History, writing a thesis on the historical development of late-modern capitalism.

A mutual acquaintance told me tonight that he's reading 100-150 pages every night.

THIS CANNOT STAND....

I'm officially done moving! Everything is out of the old apartment and into the new one. My legs feel like I just came off a 25-mile forced march, small obscure muscles in my back are suddenly letting me know they exist, but I'm happy, because I am done.

Today is laundry and organizing day, and tomorrow is LABOR DAY. (better than X-mas)

My new place...
