Strange times are abound these days for me.
Everything had calmed down for a time. my job was still shit, but I was learning to cope with it, remove myself when I needed to and relax. Money was getting saved well, almost enough for a small holiday someplace nice. My art has developed more and more, I'm really wanting to branch out, with my bravery and imagination at an all time high. There is (potentially) a girl. My best friend getting married...
Then two nights ago I started cutting again.
I have no idea why I keep doing this to myself anymore. but as anyone who has cut before knows, its a compulsion. I just did it without thinking about it.
You know when you see yourself in other peoples' photos, and don't recognize yourself? That's how I feel. I I'm like a stranger to myself right now.
I have things to keep me happy right now though. I'm finally leaving Reading, For Cardiff. I'm seeing it as a reinvention of sorts. I want to start over completely here, and make a life I want to be apart of, as opposed to one I tolerate.
I've picked up a few new webcomics over the last two months.
Elise in Pieces
is a tale of an aspiring serial killer with agoraphobia. Still in the beginning stages, but oh so good looking.
The Idle State is the follow up to another comic that ran its course. Again, still very new, but has promise.
I'm late to the party with this one, but Girls with Slingshots has become a must read for me. I love the very adult humour and everyday life stuff, mixed with evil cats and talking cacti.
Music? I got some. Irish band "Set guitars to kill" came to my attention through a youtube users' video (search how not to play hitman) , and I fell for the addictive riff and pure guitar rage. Also from the same user was "Negative PH". I'm not massively known for liking electronica, but my god this stuff makes me wanna gurn my face off.
Going back to what I was talking about earlier, my art is improving all the time. Have a gander, why don't you?
