I'm getting lax with these posts. Its no good, I must start posting more often...
...except the last month or so has been exceptional in its lack of anything whatsoever. But I digress.
Firstly, A couple of new pieces have finally been added to the ol' Tumblr , and more is being added every time I have access to a scanner (mine finally gave up the ghost).
There is news on the college front - i picked up the prospectus for F/T and P/T courses. A small step, but a step in any language. I hope to be on a course before September. If the job allows.
Speaking of which, i think I've made my feelings clear about the job I work. And with almost every business hiring all sorts of positions right now, I feel my chances are good to get a new job soon. And it couldn't be more welcome. Barwork is an experience, sure. And the bonds you can develop with your co workers is strong, but its a sheer grind sometimes and I no longer want to do it.
All kinds of new things have entered my sphere of acknowledgement. Music wise its Spinnerette (I'm slow, sue me), Rise Against, Skrillax... I even got Daft Punks' TRON OST for shits and giggles. Its good in places, but it lacks the hooks and sheer enjoyment factor of previous DP.
Books? I read a shit load of 'em. the Golden City is John Twelve hawks finale to his "Traveller" series, and its shaping up to be a real epic. If it wasn't so anti - everything, I'd say it'd make a great film in the right hands.
Deus Ex - the Icarus Effect is a prequel to the upcoming Deus Ex game coming out, and lays ground work for both the new game and the first (released 10 years ago). Entertaining, but poorly paces and lacking in real character empathy, although attempted.
Games? i play a few. Like new iPhone adventure game Sword and Sworcery. Looks retro beautiful, with its lo-fi graphics and amazing soundtrack, it even plays differently depending on what time you play it (some sort of moon feature I gather).
Fucking MineCraft is eating my life away, and I don't mind one bit. Slowly constructing a fort of epic proportions. Lucky I'm in a friendly MP server too, or the creepers would have had me fucked by now.
By the way, amazing comic artists who create the SG comic...
