Doctoral student Ken Stanton, 29, said he resented that Cho was getting airtime while many of the victims, such as his friend, Jeremy Herbstritt, remained anonymous.

"I'm sick of it," he said. "It's like you can't get away from it -- every time I walk by a TV, there it is."

Stanton vowed to try to appear on as many news shows as possible.

"My focus now is getting on TV and taking time away from [Cho]," he said. "Every minute I can get on is one less minute he'll be on."

The longer the friends of victims go on news programs and talkshows, the longer the killer himself will receive attention. This guy is just a media whore.

Don't get me wrong, the whole incident is tragic. Although I suppose that goes without saying. Nonetheless, someone pursuing a doctorate should have more sense than to be so aghast over the fact that the American media would fixate upon this. Maybe he should spend less energy focusing on the victims and more trying to draw attention to the fact that despite being a danger to himself and others, that wackjob was walking the streets instead of committed in a mental hospital. Times like these I'm glad to live in Canada.

Aww, don't be a jerk! frown

CNN's already talked a tonne about his mental issues; trust me, I've watched more CNN in the last few days than I'd like to admit. Since they're going to continue giving the whole ordeal attention for days to come, why would it be so bad for them to give more of that airtime to the victims than Cho?
