My two days off were sensational!!!!
Did laundry for the first time in my new place and met one of my neighbors.
The night before I heard a couple down the hall from me fighting. There was yelling and door slamming and it sounded like it was waaaaaay down the hall and I could hear phrases like,
"I'm not gonna marry you!"
"Shut the fuck up!"
Etc.
Sounded brutal.
I think I'm gonna get a baseball bat and when that shit happens again I'll just knock at their door with it and be all;
"I don't want to intrude on your romantic issues... but I wanna sleep, ya FUCKIN' DOUCHE BAGS!!!"
I'm not by nature a violent person, but this shit pisses me off!!
At any rate, started one of my first Master's classes (Oral Communication).
Sounds fun and like it might challenge me slightly... not academically, but creativly. Seems like the speech class I took in my Undergrad. Blah blah.
Finished Kafka's AMERIKA. Wasn't bad. More straightforward than I'm used to from him.
Picked up Matheson's HELL HOUSE and Bloch's LORI for my next reading.
Right now I'm reading HELL HOUSE and, as usual with Matheson, IT RULES!!!!!!!!!!
Also read a bunch of Clive Barker short stories (from BOOKS OF BLOOD) and a buncha Hemingway shorts.
Those made me feel good.
Watched the movies THE HOLE.
It was interesting, but didn't live up to its potential. Thora Birch was great, but the movie just wasn't nearly as cool as it could've been... lotta unrealized ideas and difused tension.
Also watched SHADOWS OF THE DEAD.
OK movie.
It was a lot like this British movie I, ZOMBIE (which was crap) that came out about 5 years ago.
Today has been good.
Got my Pro-Pain ticket for the Chicago show.
I'm goin' to 'Pain in Chicago on the 15th, then, after the show (which'll let out at around 1am cuz it's 21+), I drive home to STL and get home around 4 or 5am.
Fall into bed.
Wake up around 3 or 4pm.
Have lunch with my buddy John and then we're off to Social Distortion at the Pageant here in St. Louis!!!!!!!!!!

Had an interview today with the D.M. of Hot Topic.
Laugh if you want, but dammit I'll meet more like-minded people at that store than at the fuckin' video store I work at now.
Don't get me wrong: I DO get $8.40 an hour, plus benefits, to stand around and watch movies all day and rap with people about dorky horror movie shit... but I gotta do something else to pay for grad school and rent and gas and food... something more interesting cuz this video store gig has lasted two and a half damn years!!!!!!! And I love longevity in all things, but sometimes I feel stagnant and complacent.
But the interview went well, fuckin' slayed it, and I can forsee good things happening.
They also announced on Fangoria a fuckin' two disc edition of TALE OF TWO SISTERS with deleted scenes and the whole beefnpotatoe burrito!!!!!!
I guess I can ditch my old, shitty VCD cuz TALE is one of my all time favorites and I'm all a dork when it comes to DVD special editions (UNDERWORLD and the 1978 DAWN OF THE DEAD, case and point).
But tonight it's grocery shopping, listening to my new CDs (some old Caliban and Autum Offering), calling my buddy Tim Scott in Santa Fe and, possibly, whip out a few pages in my 4th screenplay... either that or I'll just read a shitload cuz I'm hella into this book.
I'm sure whoever reads this'll be bored as FUCK!!!!!!
