Waiting to hear from the agent, trying to sell reprint rights to the first book. Its at Vintage/Black Lizard, getting a serious reading because I have friend who knows somebody. Am on pins and needles. Agent emailed yesterday asking about revisions for the second book (not done) and progress on number three (I only like the first two chapters, after that it sucks) so of course I lied and said that I have 100 pages done and that the revisions are coming right along. Which means drinking lots of coffee and not having fun this week. And still no money, havent made a cent off the writing since last
winter.
OK enough complaining. Love lifes great and the sun is shining. And at least I have an agent. And a job. And my various health problems are at bay.
Place where I work (an independent bookstore) may open a store in Hollywood, around the corner from Amoeba Records. Which means I could move to LA. Havent lived there in 20 years, but it seems like an adventure. The Greek Artist could probably be convinced to move, the visual art scene seems pretty interesting down there. Anybody from LA reading this? Would you frequent a huge new/used bookstore in Hollywood? Would you
come say hi if I took a job down there as a book buyer? Would somebody find me an
apartment in Venice?
