awwwwww, saturday night.
so, um, FUCKING AWESOME!!!
while getting ready for the evening, i was so nervous with anticipation. SGs in the flesh (pun intended) and hanging out with lots of cool people. i knew it was gonna be great.
i picked up ShaolinTiger and headed over to Cairo's before we all piled into my car and headed over to One World for dinner prior to the show. there were so many people, we ended up split between two tables. the table i was at was meant for like five or six but we squeezed seven. vegetarian dining was interesting for us meat eaters (including cairo and halfjack switching meals). after much loitering, it was on to the show (tho unforutanely without cheech cause he couldn't get a ticket).
waiting in line despite the cold was fun. cairo was so giddy, especially after meeting Tigerwong. it was so cute.
sidenote: shoalintiger informed me while waiting to much glee from me that thicke, an awesome r&b artist whom i absolutely luv and am actually listening to right now, is coming out with another CD. you should all go out and learn about him and his music and buy his CD. trust me. tho a virgin, i know it is great for fucking
ok, back on topic. the show was so amazing. the opening act was a j-rock (i learned a new term, thank you dierdre) band that absolutely tore down the house. i bought both their cd's and was pleasantly tickled when the drummer was able to decipher the kanji on my wrists.
the burlesque show was jar dropping hot. tho i luved them all, my favs were the reservoir dogs inspired piece, the wedding dress piece, the chair with whip cream and cherries piece, and the finale piece of two school girls being dominated by their teacher. if only my catholic school days were that hot. *sigh*
after the show, denny's was had by all. it was fun being notthelamma's personal gps. we stuffed our faces, and left. but of course, we all felt Inocencia's belly about half a dozen times. pregnancy is so beautiful.
we all split, figuring out how to get back to cars and home. we dropped off cairo on the way. tigerwong walked her to the door. it was so cute. but it took so long that stein took a smoke break. i busted out laughing. when tiger finally came back to the cars, we had to applaud him. it was perfect for the moment. he took a bow, and we were off back to the bar to pick up cars.
i didn't get home til like 4:45am (had to drop of shaolintiger), and i crashed around 5am.
