I finally met the owner of my company, yesterday. It was strange, as he had been described to me in such a way that I though he'd be much older. It was good to meet the man. I have not seen a face so marked by fear and doubt in quite a while, but it gave me the peace of mind to decline their offer of a promotion and continue on the path I've been catching glimpses of through the undergrowth of my own sloth.

I'm headed back to Tennessee for two weeks, thankfully. It will give me a chance to prepare myself mentally and physically for a little more ordered living. Even the most devout legionnaire needs to take shelter in the eye of the storm from time to time. Once my roots are properly watered I'll return to my city by the Charles for another year.

To Scopitone: I salute your unerring pursuit of greatness and I lament your recent loss. May irony strike down your transgressors in most painful and amusing fashion.
