Mmmm tis the season for hot chocolates and cuddddles and warm soup with crusty bread, mmmmm I love winter...everything about it.. except maybe the dry itchy skin... god I hate the dry skin... hmm... When I got up yesterday morning, I was like yay, what a beautiful day... then I went for a walk, and the wind went right through me... Yep, it's winter!!

So after a shocker of a week last week things have looked up this week. It's always what happens to me.. I have a realllly bad week followed by a realllly good week.

First and foremost, I got another promotion, yay, and an awesome pay rise. Naturally, I was quite shocked as one of the proprietors has been a total bitch to me lately.. so shocked, in fact, that I burst into tears... Anyhoo basically my new job involves more back end work that I wasn't doing before.. Like working in the warehouse doing stock management and warranty stuff, being stocktake controller, liaising between warehouse and management, running weekly/monthly reports for the department managers and supporting them on various wavelengths. Mostly stuff I've never had to do before, which is awesome cos it's a new challenge. On an even better note, I will spend less time dealing with customers, yay!! Basically this was work the 2IC was doing before, but the 2IC had too much shit to do so they broke her position down into two parts, and I was lucky enough to get that other part Wooot! Downside is I don't start until I get back from Africa, which is fair enough as it will be a fresh start (I really need a proper holiday) and they won't want to be paying me a higher rate when I'm not even there... OHOH and I think my new position will allow me to have a weekend off each month, cross fingers.....

Speaking of work, our hideous uniform is changing, yay, so I went and bought myself a bunch of new work clothes.. was so happy, I got two pairs of black pants and a skirt for $100!! And I'm gonna get myself a pair of boots too, cos I'll be wearing pants mostly (instead of ugly taupe skirts) I'll able to buy a pair of normal sized ladies boots, and just wear socks with them to make them fit I couldn't find any boots yesterday I really liked though - they either have no heel or a really point heel... I hate buying work shoes cos nothing with a nice heel ever fits me Damn me and my small feet. We were talking at work (and to Leo) the other day, and I said that I'd swap my boobs (what little I have of them) for normal sized feet any day... hehe i dunno if Leoz would be too happy about that though

Second good thing is that Maurie is back at work, thank god, so I am back to working normal hours.. I worked 8 50hr weeks in a row (including two weeks over stocktake when I worked almost 60 gahh). Even though there will be less money in my pay until I go to Africa, I would much rather less money and more relaxing. After two days off I am already destressed and feeling heaps better.. It's amazing how two sleep ins in a row can make you feel so much better. And the fact that the roadworks are finished here also means I am sleeping better.. phew!!

Third good thing is that kitty is right at home at mum's place. Mum was worried that he wouldn't get along with her two dogs, and that my stepdad Brian wouldn't get along with him.. He's settled in awesomely, playing with her two dogs and giving them heeeeaps of shit, hehe, making himself comfortable on mum's bed and generally being a nuisance when mum or Brian is trying to do something important (as always). Even though it's totally not the same without him here, he seems to be having more fun there that he was here.

Ummm what else.. oh did I mention I love winter?
