Time for another update...Not that too much has changed...
Still takin' care of my Grandpa - his Parkinson's & Arthritis haven't gotten noticibly worse but, then, they haven't gotten better either.
I met a neat girl at a bar when I went to go see my friend's band play - she was dancing around while playing pool. She definitely hit several of my interest switches: Her style was a li'l geeky & a li'l alternative, short hair (not quite a bob, but flattering), obviously a friendly personality.
After the show, I approached her to let her know I appreciated the fun energy she added to the atmosphere and we seemed to hit it off: She touched my arm, asked my name, and mentioned that she'd be at the next gig for one of the other bands. Unfortunately, I never thought to ask for her number and that band never showed (or updated) their next gig.
I'm doing another play: 'Losing Ground in the Big City'. Written by the husband of the head of my Theatre group. It's a dark comedy about a Day Trader who's naive younger brother comes to the city to stay with him a little while, a College Girl hooker is involved too.
My resolution for the year is to be more proactive, I just pray my family gets into a better situation - My Dad still hasn't found another job since getting laid off last year; My Mom seems to be getting needier; My Siblings are as irresponsible as ever; and, of course, my Grandparent's aren't in the best of health.
I just don't see how I'll be able to make it another year as one of the main stablizers for the family. Somebody's got to stop bogarting the safety net and let me have a chance to take the risks I need in order to build myself a Life. I want to do right by them, but I need to do right by myself - I can't just keep mortaging the Present in exchange for the Future, eventually I have to work on the Now. All I want is my fair share, is that too much to ask?
