Okay, that's an ample time between posts...
As I'd announced in my December blog, I turned in my resignation with EB Games. I just didn't actually stop working there until Mid-January, because I liked my coworkers and didn't want to leave during the hectic holiday season (aka be a douche). Unfortunately, I have yet to find a replacement dayjob - If you have any tips/suggestions on a good day job for an actor, please feel free to share.
Haven't move out of my parent's house yet - 'cause it's kinda futile when you don't have steady employment or a credit history (damn me and my only spending money that I actually have). But I'm planning on getting outta here as soon as I can.
My Oregon Lottery ad is playing now, I've mostly seen it on the local NBC affiliate. If you can't tell, I'm the one sitting next to the Boss opposite the Knight.
I had a nice trip to DC - saw/experienced a lot of things, met a lot of people, got recognized a fair amount. You can catch some of the highlights here. I would've like to get a little more accomplished, but isn't that always the case?
Finally started driving the little red '93 Mazda Proteg I got last year. I'm still adjusting to driving stick, but it gets the job done. So far, I've checked off a few ownership milestones:
- First accident: broke a parked car's driver's side mirror with my right turn-signal
- First time locking my keys in the car: I went to an audition for a Clark Community College ad and chatted with a cute girl that was there while we waited our turns. After the audition, I went to my car and put on my coat because it was starting to rain. I decided to go ask the girl to 'coffee or drinks' and locked the door (yup, left the keys on the seat). In the end, she had a boyfriend but said she was sure we'd see eachother around again and security helped me open my door.
- First time draining the battery: Left the lights own when I parked it on my way to dance class(Second time, when I was going to a Milonga). Thankfully, I was able to find somebody to give me a jump fairly quickly.
Look for me in an upcomming episode of Leverage (they're filming the new season in Portland) - I'm a Mail Kart Guy in an office as well as various pedestrians. And I might be getting another day of extra work here soon, but I'd likely be less noticable due to the aforementioned scenes.
Still enjoying my dance classes and starting to go out a little more socially. I've met some interesting girls, but haven't found anybody special yet.
Rehersals for my theatre troop's play will be starting before too long. This year we're doing an adaptation of Goldoni's 'The Liar'. Still waiting to hear which precise part I'll be, but I know it'll be one of the main parts. Regardless, it'll be fun.
Been starting to consider moving down to LA. It seems like it'd be more helpful to my acting career and perhaps even personally (especially since I have friends and some family in the area), but I'm not sure - especially with the financial situations (Mine, California, USA) the way they are... <shrugs> If I do, it won't be until the fall at earliest; so I got some time to think.
