There's something funny about 50 year old men still trying to be Rockstars. I mean let's face it not everyone is The Rolling Stones. Some people even say they should hang it up. Not me. The Stones are still rocking in my book.

But what about bands who have tragically lost memebers. Lynyrd Skynrd, The Doors, and Queen.

All amazing legendary bands, with famous frontmen who brought the aura of the bands to life. Would the Doors have been what they where without the mystique of Jim Morrison? I doubt it.

Now I am by no means saying that the other members of the band would have been nothing with out thier front men. Hell no. But it is the Flamboyent Freddie Mercury, the dark and brooding Jim Morrison that we remember. They are the front men for that reason. It's them that suck us in, that keep our eyes ond ears pointed on the band.

Watching Queen last night all I could think of is "I Miss Freddie" I unfortunatly am to young to have seen him live, but I have seen the videos, listened to the music. He was the soul of Queen. His thunderous voice was both exciting and haunting. And his stage theatrics rivaled David Bowie or that of Elton John. I missed him. It wasnt the same without him.

Brian Rogers the lead from Bad Company took the reigns and did an excellent job. But it still wasn't the same. But it was a clash between Queen's greatest hits and Bad Company's greatest hits. I wasn't sure who I came to see.

There was an amazing rendition of "Bohemian Raphsody" The band played to Freddie. he was projected on a huge Jumbotron and his vocals boomed from the speakers. All the lights were out and all we could see was a montage of Freddie singing his song. It was a true tribute to a true Legend.

In the end I realized that's what it was. A tribute to Freddie. And it was a sucess. It saddens me that his life was taken away from him so soon. As amazing as his tribute was....what it could have been if he was there?

And not to get all religous, Im not sure what my beliefs our anyway, but if you beleive in Heaven, and I do. Then Freddie was there last night. And I think he was proud of his friends who I can tell truly miss him. And the fans who gave an ovation to a screen, missed him as well.

Freddie you rocked brother. Thank you for some truly awesome Rock n Roll!!!

I would actually like to see the surviving members of Queen participate in the Rockstar show that producer John Burnett did with INXS. I thought it was a solid/fair tribute to the departed singer as well as a nod to the quality of the band, and dammit it would be good to see someone like Queen becoming active again...

yeah that part is pretty interesting. lucifer has three heads. the middle one faces forward and the other two faces faces backwards so he can look over his shoulder. each head contains a sinner in its mouth. three sinners of benefactor.

haha i can just go on and on... it's the only course i'm taking where i actually know what's going on.
