I Arrived in Canberra early on the afternoon of the Friday,the day was mild yet sunny,hailing a cab i bid the driver to take me to my hotel which was situated in the suburb of Forrest , behind the Houses of Parliment,en route,the driver ( quite an amicable fellow) did inform me Canberra enjoys more sunshine then other Cities in the Colonies a fact dure to its Geographic location
After setteling into my room i did make the hour long walk into the town,noting many interesting features along the way..particularly the bird life ( eastern rozellas abounded)
and the ganggang cockatoo ( a beautiful species of black cockatoo),i explored the city & did find the Wig & Pen public house..a fine establishment serving Real Ales.after my exploration i was in need of refreshment & did imbide numerous of there fine wares,whereapon i did bump into Steven who bid me welcome & did enjoy a drink with me
After a time the Intoxicating properties of the drink were having their effect & thus i did make my way back to the hotel,where apon i did partake of the herb from the indies & fell into a stupor ...
Saturday dawned & i did consume breakfast in the town,the coffee most excelent..i whiled the afternoon searching for Net Acess & thus gather any last minute information on the night s upcoming festivites,where upon i found myself in a basement cafe surrounded by sullen,pale skinned male youths playing the latest in electronic combat games,I did search SG & found no new information,i quickly left & felt ..again..the kiss of the sun on me...Leaving the town i made my way back to my Lodging & made ready for The Ball...
