Growing up, mainly my teenage years of high school I never really grasped the importance of my education. Sure at home i had my mother and father telling all about how what i learn and do in school will open the doors to my adult life. But I never truly sank in. Sadly now as an adult it makes sense why I find myself in 8th grade Pre-Algebra in college. But those are the breaks. Now i see it as needing to be done. I blame the school itself for my current state. The school i went too had over 900 students from 9th to 12th grade. several of my classes alone would have as many as 40-50 teens. Now assume for a moment being a teacher with 40-50 teens who really don't want to be there. The job doesn't look very appealing. That is why most of the teachers i had were there for the pay check not to educate.
But now many years later here i am learning the things i should have learned damn hear 15years ago. And i find myself having fun. Understanding concepts and operation of Pre-Al, that at the time were going right over my head. More so it is at this moment that I find the appearance of a 3.8 GPA and I feel like I've won some great battle. Sure this is the beginning of my academic future but I am please none the less. A feeling i believe had I felt those 14-15 year prior would vary well have fueled my drive to succeed. I only wish i could travel back in time and convince my parents to pull me out of that school sooner and put me into a better environment where a 1 on 1 basis could be achieved. The next step, is to figure out what it is I wish to study.
I have narrowed it down to 2 fields of study. Psychology, and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering(both will be required for my end goal), along with Physics(BIG MATH >.<). Psychology interests me merely due to my own personal daemons I've battled for a number of years, I feel if i can learn how and why the mind does what it does then I can help myself, As well as others. We all know someone out there who is in need of help. Whether it be obvious or in not. As for the Heavy Math and Science, I have a dream of designing and building New advance Prosthesis for amputees. I feel that as far as technology and science in concerned we have come far enough that we can have the what we dream. The current state of prosthesis is medieval. I've dreamed of concepts such as synthetic muscles, and adapting the nuero-electrical energy our bodies produce to help power the same limbs, to help alleviate the need for large Li-Po or Li-Ion batteries. These concepts i need help to flesh out. for right now they are only dreams. I have written and drawn these concepts out and held them for years. The Synthetic muscles since i was 12. Big goals.. but first things is first, passing A054, and onto A055 :3
