I have been absent online for a while. My lovely Toshiba laptop up and died on me. The logic board is done for, The best I can hope for is maybe three hundred dollars for the corpse. Luckily for me, I have still have my old compaq piece from 1999, so I'm good to go. Yeah, this baby has a 550 mhz amd-k6, 128 mb of ram upgraded to 194, cd-rom, usb 1.1 and a 12" screen. Of course It had no usable OS, so I had to put Ubuntu Linux on there. It took a while, but I finally have it configured to the point that it has Internet.
I had a keen job all lined up. It was a paralegal job with a downtown firm. I knocked the interview down, they were practically giving me a set of keys by the end of it. But the short time I have til I go to school precluded me from locking it down. The staffing agent that got me the interview said taht they might have a short time job as a file clerk on the horizon. I hope so. I need some employment baby. I gotta buy a new computer.
The last straw: My goddamned hair-dryer crapped out on me. First my car needs fixin', then my compy, and now I need a new goddamned conair. I need the volume.
