This weekend was AMAZING! I had so much fun, so I'm going to have to write about the majority of what happened. I'll leave out the boring bits and whatnot so ya'll don't fall asleep reading this.

I got the nine-o'clock ferry over to Vancouver, and that was uneventful. I spent some time talking to this really stoned hippie who was raving about Green Cuisine, and I debated eating. I lied to Paul and told him I did eat, but I didn't really. Of course, the real fiasco started when I took the bus. For starters, the bus route that I was somewhat familiar with due to Paul's explaining it and my Internet Research was changed. Damn busses. So I got off at the wrong stop, close to where I stayed when I went to see the Distillers. It went okay though, because I phoned Paul and he straightened me out. I mean, it was the fucking bus driver's fault. But still, I'd say it was a pretty good experience for my first Bus-riding time. But I don't want to do it again for a while.

Anyway, the rest of the afternoon was uneventful. Paul and I picked out some videos, he went to rehearsal and I went shopping on Main. I got a great new skirt that I'm totally in love with, and for anyone who is asking, it was only ten dollars. Times five dollars. But for a quarter I got an Art Garfunkel album. I'm so in love with Art. He's really hot. Anyway, being the stupid person that I usually am, I left it at Paul's house. Grr. But whatever. I'm really proud of myself too. Because I helped to cook a meal. I chopped up vegetables AND I helped with the dishes. This one shocked my mother. Although it was difficult doing dishes as they were in water and whatnot, but while I was doing them, Paul found some Tequila. I love tequila. And that calmed my nerves. We then started the eventful portion of the night.

First we walked down to The Purple Crab and they served me. Maybe it's because I have green hair. Anyway, some dumb band was playing and they really stunk. I think they were trying to play ska, but it was more like Skank. Anyway, we both had drinks and didn't talk. I read a bit of Paul's script after writing a few poems (yes, I will post them in my other journal), but I couldn't keep reading it. There was this character named Daniel, and they kept mentioning him. It made me sad... Anyway, I think Paul caught on, so he took me to this punk-rock place. That's where I met this girl who was SO incredibly hot! I wanted to die. Anyway, here's a transcript of our conversation:

Me: Hi
Punk-Rock Girl: Hey
Me: I'm Kyla, by the way
Punk-Rock Girl: Cindy... I haven't seen you around
Me: No, I'm from Victoria
Cindy: *awkward pause*
Me: So. I know every cheesy pick up line in the book. Which one works on you?
Cindy: How about the one where I'm not a lesbian but you are.
Me: Oh. Damn.

Yeah, it was kinda pathetic. I then had another few drinks, used the pissoir, chatted with Paul. I think we made some sort of pact to be friends for ten years and then renegotiate after that time. I really hope we didn't though, because I'll break the deal. I don't want to, but I can't help it. I just don't have ten years left.

I then met this guy Johnny Sizzle. He was pretty strange, although he was probably just as drunk as I was. Paul and I went outside for some air and some old guy was telling me about hopping trains. I mentioned something about wanting to hop trains to London this summer, and he went on and on about scary stories where people died because of it. He was about to tell me the worst one, but I stopped him, because I knew I would cry. *I'm so pathetic, I cry during the movie Happiness* So then we went back inside, and shared a tequila sunrise. By this time I was so drunk I decided to give the hot guy with a mohawk and bondage pants my number. Which I did. I'll put our conversation down too, with slurs included for hilarity.

Me: Hi.
Punk-Rock Guy: Hi?
Me: I'm Kyla. Whatsh your name?
Punk-Rock Guy: I'm Danny.
Me: Hi Danny, niceta meetcha. Lissen, I'm a-gunna give you mah number.
Danny: You're going to give me your number?
Me: I'm gonna give you my number.
Danny: Okay...
Me: *writes number... gets cell phone number WRONG!* Okayman, nice meetin ya.

After that, it was time to go. Once you give some random guy your number and write it down WRONG on his sweaty hand, you know you've had too much to drink. So we got on the bus and headed back to Paul's house. I tried to download soulseek on his computer, but I kept fucking up because it was in Dutch. I can read and understand some Dutch, so I was really trying, but the words kept moving. I fucked around with his computer for a bit and then said "fuck it, i'm too fuckin' drunk" and went to bed. Paul stayed up a little longer, I think. He was drunk too. Oh my.

Anyway, waking up the next morning was not fun. I won't go into detail, but let's just say I was hung. Paul made me tea and it was peppermint (my second favorite, next to raspberry) so that made me feel great. I packed my stuff, fixed his computer some more, and we figured out a bus schedule for me to get home.

I know the weekend sounds rather dull when I write it all out, but I really was happy. I still am happy from it all. I mean, I love Vancouver. I love the people in Vancouver (and it's too bad I didn't meet lt_howitzer... but next time...) and I love the culture of Vancouver. I'm going to be SO happy when I live there. Being out of here (Victoria) was amazing. The only time I thought about all the weird skeletons was reading that script and on the ferry ride home, simply because I met a boy from Mill Bay. But he took my picture... I should have given him my number. Oh well.

Oh the drink...the drink frown

I myself am a little more partial to Paul Simon...I mean "Kodachrome" "Me and Julio", those songs were awesome. But, I guess Garfunkel is a pretty cool guy as well. wink
