last week will go down as one of the worst weeks:
1000mile drive through the rain on short notice to go to my grandfathers funeral...
After the funeral we(my brothers and 2 cousins) went to my mom's house(where we were all spending the night) and every one started to drinking...alcohol mixed with grief is not a good mix...everywhere I went in the house some one or a group of some ones were crying...next funeral no alcohol allowed the night of...
not much to talk about among your family when the only reason everybody is there is because of a death in the family...
there was an upside to the whole thing...I did get to see all my brother's and cousins at one time...met my brother Tim's girlfriend(wife to be)...she is from Peru....so my brother is learning Spanish...I was going to start learning Italian after Oct 16, but I think I'm going to switch that to Spanish...I now have a reason to learn it other than just wanting to...
My grandfather was 85 years old...he lived a good life and died peacefully....you really can't ask for more in your grandfather's death...I am sad...and I did cry, but he really is better off...no more suffering...

Glad to hear that all is well after all that. I want to learn more languages myself, but it's a little more difficult without a tutor. I'm currently dabbling in German.

Spanish is (as languages go) really easy. The verbs are extremely regular, the pronunciation is even more consistent than that. Simple rules, straightforward syllables... it is the language to beat!
