i feel kinda dirty- just went to starbucks and got coffee.
starbucks is wrong fundamentally; i prefer the small place on my corner because i'm always out to help the local business as opposed to the big one (and its cheaper, the people are friendlier, the places are unique, the coffee is better...). but, i regret to inform you (and me), i like it.
I DID NOT PAY FOR THIS COFFEE.
i have to keep reminding myself that. my father got a card for free small (tall??) iced coffee on wednesdays which he kindly passed on to me. i felt dirty walking in but kinda happy walking out. which only made me feel worse about myself. and my mother's gonna flip when she comes home and sees the cup in the garbage because it's a family antistarbucks thing. momma's still a hippie at heart and she's passed a bit of that on to me.
i'll leave a note for her explaining the freeness of this particular cup of coffee so she doesnt yell.
tomorrow, i'll probably just make it myself using the cone and hot water thing (which, somehow, never makes a good cup of coffee) or go back to paradise, the place around the corner.
or maybe by then we'll have a new coffee maker.
