Oh summer. Bringing parades composed of people who clearly are unable to handle inebriation, that on-going melody from the Mr.Softee truck creating the urge to take a drill to the temple, the Italian Ice cart in the neighborhood pushed by the fat old Puerto Rican man who always has his plumber crack showing and, of course, the most dreaded thing of all.....the sun.

However, I'm starting to debate whether Flip Flops may possibly be nearly as undesirable as the sun. So very unflattering to the feet. Open toes shoes should be reserved to the "high-heeled" style of footwear. Having said that, the inventor of Burkenstocks should be crucified.....upside-down.

Summer nights are always lovely. It's just a shame the humidity guarantees I have two consecutive bad hair months. Going out is always unconvinced by the disagreement my natural curl has with holding a straight blow-out in humid atmosphere.

Thunderstorms, however, are the most perfectly marvelous detail of summer. Even if you were dressed in your finest and on your way to a formal event you can never seem to get upset getting caught in a sudden downpour, because it makes you feel alive again. During a warm storm the city becomes a playground and we it's children.
