I'm sunburned and smell like stale tortilla chips, but I got to see Rylie and Hot Belly so I am content. The sun was motherfucking beautiful this evening- I saw it in the rearview mirror of my beat up car just a few seconds before the Minneapolis skyline disapeared around a bend in the highway; that bend in the road that takes me away.

Weekend fun is over and now I'm tired.
I found a mix tape that I made when I was just 13 and it had Dinosaur Jr.'s cover of "Just Like Heaven" on it. It 's better than the original (the Cure's version sounds like it's on xanax). Dinosaur Jr. makes that song mean so much more; the sloppy guitar heroics of J. Mascis make the music mean what the lyrics are all about.
