I doubt that Thnaksgiving is anyone's favorite holiday. It's sometimes hard to be thankful when tradition seems worn out. During our too-forced formal family dinner my mom remarked,
"I was talking to a woman today whose family was having ham for Thanksgiving dinner. How could someone have ham for Thanksgiving dinner?!"
Seriously mom, is that what Thanksgiving is really about to you? When tradition ceases to produce joy, meaning, a sense of connection and wholeness, and simply becomes a crutch, or a desperate attempt to cling to a past which seems better I say: Fuck it. I'd rather be eating curry, watching porn and looking at the stars.
