Erp. I promised a rundown... didn't I?
Ok, let's do this in point-form to keep it quick and painless (mostly).
1. I flew from Cape Town to Johannesburg to stay with Talamia 2 weeks ago, as I mentioned in my last blog. It was lovely.
2. I was taught to play Ankh Morpork and another card game that was awesome but I can't remember the name of. Hmmmm..... Talamia? What was it?
3. I shot a set or two....
You'll have to wait and see if Talamia cares to release any teasers or behind the scenes shots.
4. I was nearly mauled by an aggressive mother goat because I was trying to make friends with her baby, who I named Clarence. We had a connection.
5. I flew from Johannesburg on the 21st to London. I didn't go straight there though. I had a stop over in Dubai for 2 hours which, due to the frikken size of the place (there is an internal train to carry you from one side of the airport to the other), left me with just enough time to stagger over to my boarding gate. Really, Dubai?!
6. DID I MENTION that I had someone's ill-bred spawn kicking the back of my seat and throwing a continual tantrum all the way from Joburg to Dubai? Not one wink of sleep was had. Who has the energy to maintain a tantrum of that length? This toddler did. If I had been in possession of duct tape.... there's no telling what I would have done. That child got off easy.
EASY. I self-medicated with vodka. It didn't help. May have just poisoned myself.
7. The 2nd leg was better. I had two very quiet gentlemen on either side of me but by that stage I was too wired to sleep. I am now very keen on Suburgatory. She has just my brand of sarcastic humour. I may have a girl crush.
8. I lurched into Heathrow and realised that my wheely-bag needs to be put down. He will not make another trip with me, I'm afraid. His wheels buckle inwards and his structure is altogether saggy and defeated. I dragggggged his wheezing carcass all the way through the tube and along pavements to Fulham, where I am currently residing. He served me well. Pretty sure I could arm-wrestle a sailor and win at this point, dragging my 40kg plus bags around. Tickets to the gun show, anyone?
9. I went to Camden on Sunday. It was all kinds of lovely and I stalked the tattoo studio called Evil from the Needle where my friend was getting inked. I also went to Cold Steel and got tunnels for my stretched lobes. I'm down from 15mm to 6 mm, which is fine. I like the baby tunnels. They're cute.
10. I'm also back on my secret mission to become a tattoo artist, which I'm not sure I mentioned to you until now. Most would look at me and say... "but you only have 4 tattoo's and none of them are easily visible. Most tattoo artists are covered in ink." Which may be true, but I adore tattoo's, have watched people tattooing for years and am pretty determined to ninja my way into the industry this year. Just try and stop me!
11. I'm currently eating lots of convenience foods and job-hunting. There is SO MUCH awful (DELICIOUS) affordable junk food here that I'm finding that half my meals involve some form of biscuit/chocolate/mini roll/instant noodle. It's terrible. Someone save me from myself!!
Final point-
12. I'm going to see Reuben today, which I'm thoroughly excited about! If anyone feels like saying hello and possibly going on an adventure this week, let me know. I'm very open to adventures, or just a drink down the pub.
