pissed

So, since we moved to Phoenix, we have come across so many stray & wayward animals. We volunteer at our local no-kill shelter, but it seems we have more work to do. For the past 2 years, we've found a litter of kittens in July. This year, the litter was in the pool shed of our apartments. It was 112 degrees outside when we found them in the stifling, filth of the shed. We called all of the no-kill shelters in the state, but they are all overflowing with kittens due to the season.
\I'm happy to report however, that we have all three of them in our bathroom & after several baths & lots of kitty formula & chow, they are happy, healthy little squirts.
Now we have to find them good homes. The litter from last year had 4 kittens & we found good homes for 2 of them, but the other two remain with us. This is on top of our other 4 cats, 1 chihuhua and 1 iguana. I really never wanted to be THAT girl, but how do you say no to starving, overheated babies...If it means yet another litter box to clean, more mouths to feed and the loss of my reputation as a somewhat sane individual, then so be it. Whatever I am, I will never be THAT girl that turns any being away in that kind of need. Le sigh.
