I just got my right nostril pierced so I am finally symmetrical. (Well, nearly - the balls are two different sizes, but once it heals that's easily fixable.) A picture is forthcoming, but my camera cord died (I think I may have stepped on it a few too many times) so yeah... waitin' on that.

Okay, there's a new Visa commercial that irritates me because they refer to a "figurative metaphor." As opposed to what - a literal metaphor? Aren't metaphors, by definition, figurative language?

I think about these things WAY too much. Yay for dorkhood.

My hair took six hours, and still didn't quite turn out the way that I'd hoped. (Although I sort of like the result. While not particularly attractive, it has appeal in a white-trash-meets-mermaid sort of way.) I'll be redying a chunk of it, and if it still doesn't meet my standard, I'll be waiting a couple of weeks and changing it back to brown.

It's actually getting chilly. In Atlanta, it's probably still 90 degrees. I think this is one of the reasons that I prefer New York.

I'd kill for a real Southern biscuit, though.

Massive hair-dying project tomorrow. I haven't done anything ambitious in so long, I'm terrified that I'm going to screw it up. At least my roommate is offering to help.

So I waited around an empty classroom for fifteen minutes this evening, wondering why no on else was showing up. It turns out that most language classes don't start until next week. Whoops!

Our kitchen looks like a group of roaming rabid koala bears attacked. Twice. I should probably do something about that.

My classes started today, and I'm actually really happy with my course selection. I got Dutch added into my schedule (and am consequently in the BEST mood I've had for a long time), but I have to deal with dropping a class tomrrow. My roommate and I made chocolate chip cookies last night, and it's made me really ridiculously happy. Three cheers for the college student diet! And for my newfound ability to bake things without setting off a fire alarm.

Clearly my social life here hasn't fully taken off, but classes start on Tuesday, so I suspect that things will become a little more eventful sometime soon....
