Wow! Almost another year older... hehehe Pretty soon my hair will turn all grey then fall out 
haha. So, looking forward to yet another winter here on the ice. I'm pretty well balanced tho as this is summer #4 and will be winter #4 as well. Ship off-load is in full swing now, amazingly so. I truly wonder what the russin headlines were this year, the Krasin broke a prop so the damn tourist icebreaker had to help out and escort the Tern in. What a fiasco. That and the Russian's found out that the fuckin NSF is only paying them 1/3 of what they paid the coasties so next year they are gonna demand a raise.
"And another one bites the dust..." Lost more good people in the upper levels. Mr. Delma has resigned as well as Heather the safety queen. Dropping like flies they are. Actually more like rats on a sinking ship, I think...
Not much craziness going on. Kinda quiet but nice to not have to deal with the coasties, even though they are on thier way down here, "Just in case..."
I've been workin the C-17's for the past coupla weeks and that is usually a pretty good gig. They are from McChord in WA so we had a big "GO Seahawks" banner that I took a few pics of with the crew, the plane, and Erebus in the background. So all you Seattle people keep an eye out in the PI for the Antarctica photo's and articles.

antarctica was my reading passion for a few years when i was a kid. all that excitment about reaching the south pole.
I have been hearing the stories! Dear lord, they are dropping like flies! Fear not though, they are also dropping in DHQ as well. I wish I was there currently, but alas and alack. I'm supposed to deploy in October. Are you going back?
