Fun Time Navy strikes again.....

Where to begin, oh I know where, our most senior watch stander (don't ask me how this guy is senior to me I've got more time in the Navy then this ass hat) lost the keys to the building. IMMEDIATE SECURITY THREAT no room in the building is concidered secure from this point forward and the building went into being manned 24/7 till it gets re-keyed. So my day that started at Zero-dark-thirty gets extened till way-past-time-to-go. This morning we had a uniform inspection and I had to leave the house about an hour earlier then normal (0500) and because of having to have the building manned 24/7 I didn't leave till about 2215. Lucky me, I'm outa here in May.. er... um... July. FUCK!!! stupid fucking operational hold.

I think that all in all what upsets me the most is that I (along with other people that said this before I could bring it up) think we know who swiped the keys. Very convenient for them that they were supposed to track down all the keys assigned to people and put them into a log book was on vacation, but was in the building the same time this stuff went missing. Pretty damn conveient if you ask me.

All in all I'm actually starting to look forward to being yelled at, and excersized to death when I go to FMSS rather then to stay here much longer, at least there its expected and the mind games are going to be coming at me pretty much head on. The amount of subtrifuge and back stabbing that goes on at the clinic has actually gotten one of our corpsmen who was as gung-ho as they get dropping his collateral duties and signing up to take the transition to civilian classes at his 12 year mark, over half way to retirement and he wants out of here that bad, I think it may just be to prove a point but still.

I think that right now would have been the ideal time to take some time off, and I may still look into taking a short vacation in a bit. I'd have to talk with whitewidow my wife about it since I'm not 100% sure as to what her plans are for the next few weeks, but it may also be a good idea to save that time till June for my sister's wedding and to do a little house hunting in the Capistrano, Fallbrook, Oceanside areas. As much as I think it would be cool to get a nice little bungalo in the Capistrano beach area I have to be realistic and think of what place would be the closest to not only where I am going to be working (1st Mar Div) and what is going to be most convenient for my wife (I think she would like Capistrano the best biggrin ).

For the next couple weeks I'm going to concentrate on some of the more important things for our future and try as hard as I can to be a duck at work and just let stuff roll off my back, too bad its water and not BS that rolls. I know that there are going to be the typical snags (our new secure computer network has fucked my readiness program for an entire week now) and other things to deal with but I believe that a low profile is the best for now. I'm almost done with whitewidow's work visa package, I just need to get some tax information and attach it to the forms, I have all the fees saved up for so I don't even have to use my credit card or dip into our emergency funds. I'm pretty proud of myself for being able to put that away with out too much difficulty. The biggest thing was my trying to figure out a way to file as married, but I've come to the realization that its going to just be less a hassle to file single and add a correction after she's got a tax ID number. whatever

Next weekend I'm going to break down and finally admit that I need to have motorized transportation. I've got to start packing stuff and I need to have boxes, and tape and all the other crap plus I want to be able to do some running around for some of the parts that the old 55 sitting in the car port will need to become an active member of the motoring world again (yup I'm going to finally fix the old jeep). I still don't know if I am going to keep him, but I have some pretty fond memories of motoring west down old Route 66, top down with no doors all the way from Colorado to New Mexico and then back in to Californa on the mother road. The Jeep is a piece of history so its going to be pretty hard to part with since I've wanted one since I was a little boy. I'll just have to see how things go with it and how well its going to run with the new ignition system I've gotten for it. Oh yeah duh... I broke off on a tangent, our new family car(webster has a totally different definition of family then we do: family: PiratePete and whitewidow two adults with Peter Pan syndrome that have slightly more energy then a 9 year old that's eaten his entire Easter basket in one sitting and the two guinna pigs Lucy and Mickey) an 05 Xterra. biggrin Perfect for our active lifestyles. I'm not too sure if we're going to be on the same page with all the stuff we would like to do but I do know that its going to be a good vehicle for tossing our gear into or on top of to go out and play. I really want to get back into SCUBA diving again, and I think that it would be cool to take advanage of the outdoor gear rentals that they have at Camp Pendleton. They have everything from sea kayaks, personal water craft, surf boards (I owe my wife some surfing lessons), etc... to large grills for parties, skis and snowboards (when we get snow in the mountains again).

I don't know, we will see right now I just want it to be September already, that way I will be done with FMSS, my wife will be down and I'll be at my next duty station doing a "normal" job again and we can hopefully start our "normal" family life together. biggrin

Just as couple photos of the Capistrano area and some of the things there are to do...
