Today's forcast............. HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So the record used to be 111, and now we're up to a little over 115 I must say that it's not a very comfortable place to be outside doing anything
It kicks my ass every day when I come home. I know that where I'm at the temp is a little bit higher then were they have the weather station, it still said a bit over 115 when I got home at 5:45. Right now a posting to Alaska doesn't sound so bad. Hey it could be worse, I could be on my way to Lebanon 
Right now I'm really stressed out about our militarys involvement in all things over seas. Sure I'm in the Navy and most people believe that the worst that can happen is that I get sent to a ship or a cushy Naval Hospital. Well I have news for you my friend, who do you think it is that cares for the Marines on the front lines? That's right its the Navy Corpsman, and there has been a giant shift in the forces in Iraq to go deal with stuff happening else where in the middle east leaving huge gaping holes to be filled everywhere. They are pulling from every available location to fill these much needed spots, and I'm nervous. Its not that I wouldn't go if I was told to, it's my job and I accepted that risk years ago, but I've got so many things planned over the next few months it's not even funny. Most importantly is my upcoming wedding, so I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that since I'm so close to the end of my enlistment and negotiating for another school with an extension of my current tour they won't consider me.

Hope you beat the heat, and can find a rock to crawl under somewhere. When I looked at the temperature field for the day last Saturday (when we peaked at 114) the entire south west corner of the United States was in the white to light pink with a few spots of red and orange (you know the color spectrum from the purple to white - ROY G. BIV in reverse).
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too.
