I'm late, I'm late....

It's bad enough that I have had duty or been underway on a ship for the last 4 4th of July weekends, but to have it again now that I could actually have gone home and spent it with the family really blows, but to have to come in this morning and have one of the duty crew not show up because he was passed out at home really sucks. To make things worse we had to stick around till we could figure out where this asshole was and get him in to work to take care of his stuff. At least he was only about an hour late.



What other news do I have... IT'S STILL HOT AS HELL!!! Last weekend my next door neighbor and I filled up about a gazillion water balloons and had water ballon fights with the kids down stairs. We took it really easy on them since the oldest may have been about 6 or 7 but it was a lot of fun. I kept thinking about how much fun it would be to get a couple super soakers for this weekend. Evidently Ken had a similar idea so between the two of us we've managed to find a pack of 4 really inexpensive super soakers that the kids will have a blast with and a couple water cannons that we can employ from the balcony above, we're going to wait till the 4th to break them out after I get back from work. It should be a lot of fun, and may make a much smaller mess then all the balloons we used last time. There must have been over 500 broken ballons on the ground when we were done. Clean up was pretty easy we just waited a couple days and then swept them up. I just wish that we could do the same at work
