i've been filling my brain with stephen king of late, as i mentioned once, in preparation for his last book, the dark tower.

this was a more appropriate tactic than i had actually expected. even his book "on writing," (which is on writing, oddly enough) has added greatly to my enjoymennt and understanding of the seventh book in his epic, if only for his detailed...

like i can sit around waiting for someone to comment, before moving on.

the trick to most things is attention - it's certainly the key to children.

i think that amperes are actually attention in my previous ontological/aquatic/electric metaphor, it's amps that are the force and speed of the river, that's what really kills, volts are the diameter of the conduit,

no, wait, volts are...

i've been tearing myself into little pieces, trying to see from altered perspectives- i've no memory left, no constancy, no thread to follow

i meditate once every other moon or so, and am only able to stay still enough to see all of my surface thoughts at once, usually at least eight, counting one or two music tracks, a design...

like anyone cares about the tribulations at the ups distro.

yeah.

nevermind.

incredible as it may seem, i have now reread the entire dark tower series in preparation for reading stephen king's last book.

it's taken me most of the last six months, off and on, getting the books on order from the library, listening to them on tape while at work. i just got the last one.

i think i'll delay the gratification a little more....

he's learned to smile, and will lie unattended for minutes on end.

i am unable to get a single goddamn thing done. i can't catch up on my homework, because i am a hopeless slacker.

i should cancel my account - to keep me off chat, off the boards, off the groups.

do you know what it's like to find something beautifull in the ups distro at 3:28 am?

easier to find an alien landscape in that space, in the grids and abstract meanderings of pipes and wires and ducts and belts and cars, carts, noise dust, easier to just not wake up when you get up in the dark pre-morning, easier to sleep through life.

harder...

watching the colors of the factory this morning,
stoned on the unload,
fluorescent white off
matte steel and black paint, concrete walls,
everymorning yellow belt, sunrise.

underneath the interstate, massive blocks,
beams,
hidden corners, ostentatious overdesign..

reading bukowski in the evening, trying to find the poetry in the low life.

Is that all you have to say to me?

The low life is the most poetic of all... there's such a quiet acceptance of absolute horror.
