The normal count for the white blood cell called Neutrophil in dogs is 3,000-11,000. My Sam's count is 475. His body is destroying the marrow. 
Also his Albumins are low (a blood protein). Ironically, I have a test tonight in A and P on blood. So when the vet was explaining all about Chico's(Sam) blood being off I knew exactly what he was talking about. Good thing my tuition is paying off.
I get that he won't live forever. I just have to do what I can.
