so i know busy-ness is no excuse for neglecting to write, but i have to use it as mine. my life is not my own lately.

i had a lesson last night with my favorite student and we were talking about "cute" words. her favorite is "pimple," which i argued was not so cute. i like "pudgy," which i guess, on adults, is also not so cute. my new favorite japanese word is "tokidoki." i think it means "sometimes" but it sounds like candy.

i really want a puppy, but i feel like i'm cheating on my old childhood dog, daisy, who's about 130 in dog years now.

i feel like that picture in my profile doesn't really look like me. the discrepancy between the camera lens and the human eye is so strange.

in about four hours i leave for hong kong for a week, and since i haven't even put anything in a suitcase yet, i should really go. i'll be thinking of you when i'm eating yummy chinese food and buying cute shoes... and you can bet i'll have some stories when i get back. happy chinese new year!
