I'm dirty and stinky (though I showered this morning..who knew that just the thought of camping makes me a bit rank??) I'm also exhiliarated and sore and rejuvinated from this weekend's fun.

My friend and I went up to northern Wisconsin to go kayaking in the Apostle Islands..while we didn't make it out to any of the islands, we did do a nice day trip to check out some gorgeous eroded caves along the shoreline..the water was calm enough to allow us to get the kayaks in there, and poke around a bit. I guess in rougher seas that's asking for trouble, but yesterday was nice and calm for Superior.

I'm happy in so many ways right now..happy to have rediscovered the part of me that feels at home on the water, happy to have had a third long weekend in a row, happy to discover than my friend and I travel well together with the occasional comfortable silence..

I did miss the kitties, though, so I'm off to curl up with some feline lovin', and it's back to work tomorrow.
