I don't know what my problem is, but lately I've been forgetting to zip up my fly all the time. Getting a little embarrassing. blush

I went to the Renaissance Festival today with a friend who had never been there before. Now, I'm used to going to the festival as more than a guest, not quite a performer..many of my friends work there, and many of my customers sell their pottery there, I know soooooo many people who can get me a workers' pass so I can attend the after-hours party. I never dress in costume, though, but I also never buy a ticket.

Except for today..this was the first time I've ever paid to get through the gates..

Anyhow..Sam wanted to do all the things that I've been overlooking for years..the little hike to see the fairy houses..watching the shows..watching the jousting..

It was kind of nice, to see it fresh again. I really, really, really like the seamy underbelly of the place, but today put a little bit of the polish back on the surface.

you know, that was happening to me a couple weeks ago... my fly was down ALL the time... sometimes i'd notice it, sometimes someone else would point it out.
it hasn't been happening lately because i decided that it's easier just to wear skirts.

I was shooting a documentation with two hands on the camera on top of my shoulder awhile back. After a half hour I looked down and noticed I was in need of a one handed zip. First try I couldn't get it, the main guy started to talk and I had to keep an eye on him. I wanted to try again but I couldn't screw up the footage. So I just stood there, knowing fully well people would be able to see a big ol open fly. The feeling of uneasiness scattered quickly as I told myself no one is paying any attention to me, there listing to the guy talk.
