I sailed today for the first time! No...I went sailing for the first time.
I pulled on some ropes at crucial moments, but the only reason I did so was because I was told what to do.
Superbly windy on Lake Harriet, and Tricia and Anna and I went out with Ryland on his boat. Sometimes it feels like you're going to tip over, sometimes it feels like you're flying.
I do love the boats, you know. Was a little unsure of what to do, with no paddles, but the tweaking and adjusting of all the ropes is an art in itself..any boat without a motor is just fine by me!
Afterwards, went out to some little hipster pub where I felt older (probably was older) than almost everyone in the joint. Anna's little friend was showing mucho titty..they were hovering around her chin without the benefit of a push-up bra. I caught myself abjectly staring..
Had a good talk with Tricia and Ry. They were quite honest with me about some things I needed to hear. Good friends, they are.

I would loooooove to go sailing. I seriously need to learn how to swim. dammit. I don't even want to think about the kind of panic I might find myself in if I was to go out in the middle of the water on a boat with no motor.
I know the Y has adult swim classes. I need to just let it go and enroll.
