Went out dancing tonight, salsa at some club in downtown. Really not in the mood for the meatmarket, cabbed it home early in somewhat of a funk. I thought it was kinder to leave than to stay and share my crappy mood.
My cab driver was a nice man. He had been an x-ray technician in "his country" (didn't mention which one that might be) but here he's a cab driver. Had some of the Nag Champa burning on the dash. Very kind. We talked about small things.
Coming up the front walk, I heard a sweet little feminine voice tell me that I look pretty tonight. It was Wendy from across the street, sitting on the porch next door with one of my rogue carpenter neighbors. I've lived here for six months but hadn't met her yet. Maybe I'll bring her some cookies this week.
Hoping to get together with P tomorrow. I don't really care what we do..I would just like to share a bit of time with him. And, perhaps selfishly, I really need a hug. A big hug. One that lasts for a while.
