Went out dancing tonight, salsa at some club in downtown. Really not in the mood for the meatmarket, cabbed it home early in somewhat of a funk. I thought it was kinder to leave than to stay and share my crappy mood.
My cab driver was a nice man. He had been an x-ray technician in "his country" (didn't mention which one that might be)...

This online journaling thing is surprisingly good. I'd always kind of mocked the concept, but it's much better than I could have anticipated.
..who knew?..
Rode my bike to work today, which is 40 minutes each way. I like it, and plan on doing it as regularly as possible, rain or shine, but hope for shine. I need to get a helmet, though, as I...

I've only been to Nevada once and I stayed the weekend in a trailer on an Indian Resevoir. It was funny because there were seven of us and we caravaned there from Cali in the middle of the night in two trucks. The trailer was so small we had to sleep in shifts. lol. But I did do some nickel machine gambling at the stateline on our way back to Cali. I was only 15 and I quit gambling and left after the waitress kept hassling me to order a drink. I was afraid she was going to card me!
I'm not much of a gambler. I never play with any hopes of winning. Mostly I like the little video game type machines where you can bet in dimes or nickels. I can sit for hours at one of those with a $5. lol. Sometimes I get lucky and will walk away with $25 more than I started.
The one thing I hated about owning a car and being a girl was how the repair shops always tried to rip me off. I took my car in for a tune-up once, and they tried to sell me a new carburator.. making it sound like my car could break down any minute if I didn't pay them $800.00 now. Assholes. I was really glad to find one of my friend's father is an automech. He would do all the work for me during down time at his shop and only charge me for parts. Sometimes it would take awhile if the shop was busy, but it was always worth the wait just to know he wasn't trying to rip me a new one.

So it's all perspective. All of it!
Talked with a new close friend tonight, discovered that our time together has been (or seemed) different to each of us. My life is only marginally structured, with work being the major structuring factor..I am busy, but most of the things I'm busy with are things that could get done now or later, and probably be classified under...

Finished up work today in record time, and went to dinner with my friend Tony. He's also in a transitory state, regarding his pottery, the main difference between our two predicaments is that his pottery supports a wife and four children.

Yesterday I went through the work to set up a booth at an art fair. I should say "art fair", since most of the stuff there could be better classified as craft. Not that art is better than craft, or vice versa, but it's always preferable to be showing your audience what they're looking for in terms of price and category.
Anyhow, I hauled about...

Thanks! I liked taking the pics, on various roadtrips last summer. I don't have any pics of occupational stuff that's recent, as I seem to be in the midst of yet another aesthetic change. Meaning, I'm not exactly sure what kind of potter I am, exactly.
"Ceramic artist" might be more accurate, as I seem to be edging more towards functional sculpture rather than functional pottery.
But as I seem to be constantly burned out as a result of having a clay-related 9-5 job, it's a miracle if I have any drive to make stuff of clay very often.
I'm making a concerted effort to be bigger than my burnout, though.
