So apparently this is just the bad news corner....

I didn't hear from my best friend Ginner all day today, which is a bit odd, but I figured she assumed I was busy. Went to mom's after work for dinner, got a call from our other friend Amy. She asked if I'd talked to Ginner lately, I said no, and she proceeds to tell me that there was a bad accident the other night between where Ginner and I live. She thought one of the cars involved could have been Ginner's dad and grandma. So I call Ginner, all worried, no answer at her parents house, no answer on her cell, left her a voicemail. She called me back about 10 min. later....yeah, it was her dad. A drunk driver ran a red light and hit her dad's car while he was driving her grandma over to their house. Her dad is in intensive care with some broken bones and such, her grandma passed away early this morning. I feel so bad for her right now. I think she's lost 3 grandparents this year, and this is so unfortuate right before Christmas.

The 1 positive that may come of it--her dad happens to have a bit of an alcohol problem himself, perhaps he will swear off the drinking, or at least drinking and driving. As far as I know, he hasn't done it in a while, and he was not at the time.

Supposedly the guy that hit them is going to be charged with manslaughter.
