This week has been incredible. I got a new job (yes, another... the nannying thing didn't work out as I'd hoped.) But this new new job pays better than either of the others, is Monday through Friday, and is at the most incredible childcare facility I've ever seen. The kids get swimming lessons starting when they're TINY (about 18 months old), the building is huge but so well-designed and decorated that it feels homey, and there's an entire room that's a ball pit for the kids. The playgrounds are amazing too- each age group has their own smallish one outside the classroom, and they all share a few HUGE grassy areas with climbing equipment.
I also did stand-up for the first time on Saturday. Making a room full of strangers laugh is a great feeling. Right before I went on, the boyfriend wished me good luck and told me he loved me for the first time... I wasn't sure if I'd be able to talk after that, and was momentarily angry at him for turning my brain to jello before my big moment. That passed rather quickly, though ;)
Right after the show ended, we went to my roommate's birthday party and had a good time there. I had non-gelatin jello shots for the first time ever (coconut rum and pineapple non-jello. magic.) I actually drank water too so I didn't feel like garbage today.
I should be doing homework at the moment... I'll get started any time now, really :P
