Happier blog.

Today started when I made french toast and veggie sausage. I was then greeted by a groggy zombie who moaned, walked into the kitchen, and hugged me. I apologized for waking him with the noise, and he responded along the lines of "Noise didn't wake me. Smelled good. Arrrrrghrn".
After some coffee he was slightly more expressive.

I am currently waiting for some chocolate shortbread dough to cool. Once that is baked, I will make some soft salted caramel to top it and hopefully surprise a friend (and of course share with my zombie). I haven't yet decided if I'm going to add a thin layer of milk chocolate between the cookie and caramel... I fear it will be too sweet if I do that, though the shortbread itself isn't terribly sweet.
