I've had pain in my left side and chest for about a week, and then developed a respiratory infection, so yesterday I went to the local urgent care center. When three medical professionals in a row come in, look at you, and say "you look REALLY uncomfortable", you know you were right to go in. So a nurse gave me a shot (actually, walked into the room, said "You can choose between your arm or your butt. Butt hurts less, but I don't care if you'd rather use your arm". After this I asked if he minded telling me exactly what was being shot into my body, and he says, "Oh, yeah. Toradol, 60 mg." In case you're wondering, I went with my arm.
So they think I have kidney stones, then do some tests and say "well, we don't know what's wrong with you, but here's an antibiotic and a painkiller, don't drive or operate heavy machinery on the painkiller. If you hurt again, go to the ER."
In short, I did not go to the ER, but I do have to work today which might suck. But everyone was really nice about me not going in yesterday, and apparently the most lively conversation of the day was "What is Lizz like on drugs?" (slow.)
And of course, xbradx is being a total sweetheart and taking care of me and being wonderful and thoroughly spoiling me.
