hmm. i received the news that the stars show was not well-received by some critic. i suppose i was too caught up in my moment of ecstacy to actually recognize that they sucked? hah. i whole-heartedly disagree with whoever this critic is (i'm too lazy to look it up, quite frankly, i've had a hell of a day). he wrote something about the attendees not singing along. i sang my little heart out. but you see, i actually knew the lyrics.
anyway. one of my eastern block girls (there is 4 of us all together), mirna, and i went to TO monday. we covered a lot of shopping ground (kensington market, queen west, and the oh-so-dreaded-but-oh-so-warm eaton's centre). she bought me a lovely present (a hugely puffy off-white tulle underskirt [to be worn as an actual skirt by the actual me], and bloomers [yes, bloomers... the ruffled panty i have desired since god knows when]). i'm loving the () [] in this entery. i'm sure it all makes little, if any, sense to you, but my brain is categorizing like mad.
so. after the shopping, mirna and i headed to my humble home where we had a martini with my landlord and lady and her gay best friend who is pretty damn fabulous. then, we partied like rock stars without the sex or the rock and roll. meanwhile, we watched 4 movies (2 foreign, 2 indie, all great), did each other's make-up, dressed up like hussies and the like. it was great fun.
today is a different story. due to last night's debauchery, i was in no mood to dealing with my parents or anyone, really. unfortunately i had to. that's all that will be said about this subject, for now. the holidays are never really "holy" around my crazy (yet irritatingly lovable) family.
hmm. what else? the eastern block (why does it sound cooler when someone else refers to us as that?) headed to watch one of its members belly dance. damn. that was a bit of a turn-on. women are sexy while belly dancing. especially bigger women.
so aside from the hell that awaited my return from TO this afternoon, i've had an excellent last few days. this is unusual, but most welcomed.
