Saturday was the first night of "Bite Club". My friend is starting an underground dinner/caberet thingy from her house. It was awesome, as usual. There was incredibly delicious food, a silent art auction, and three performances. The first was a woman who came in and was half man and half woman she would turn one way to be the man and the other to be the woman. She sang almost her whole piece, the man was commenting on the woman and the woman said, "I'm nobodies baby but my mama's and my mans." Very cool...then a young girl came out and did some freestyle break dancing...she was awesome. Then a man came out with some unusal instruments and played them beautifully, he was joined by a violinist and then a butoh (sp?) dancer came out that was incredible. He was scary! He was an asian guy that had put white powder on himself so he looked dead. And when he first appeared in the door way his eyes were rolled back in his head and his limbs and fingers and toes were positioned to look in pain and he seemed to be dying. He did this for what seemed like 10 minutes and then he slowly changed into being happy and playful. I think everyone was so relieved. It was very intense. My mom was with me and she said she wanted to pull me away from him because she was scared for me. That's a pretty strong reaction.
Anyway, it was pretty fuckin' cool. Anyone in SF that would like to check something like this out, or would like to audition to perform can contact me, and I will put you in contact with my friend. All artists are paid.

looks like you found a pretty inexpensive, relaxing place to stay...in the summer months there are definitely some good spots on the north shore to dive...just drive further north on kamehameha hwy...i know people dive all over the place in the summer months...
waimea bay is great, look for a hole that goes under the giant diving rock...
here is a great site that will help...
