first off, i get these questions all the time. for one ive been doing graffiti for 10-1/2 yrs...
getting lines "so perfect" well doesnt come easy, takes alot of practice, and also a spray can isnt liek a pencile or anything, u gotta do quick and steady but quick movements of the can(for nice lines and no paint spills) and also we use TIPS that make the paint wider, skinny, very big, softball size, etc. types ..when u spray...and with teh shadding its all the on the colors u use as well. for example wanan shade and ur base color is red, then u get a lighter red, and then a lighter red. and best thing to do is to keep the can far away so when u spray its like a mist, gives good shade effects..
umm the time thing, well liek with my self and most graffiti writers i know. best time is around 2-5am..highways are basically easy, if u do somthing on a silent wall(ur kinda away from the drivers view,) plus being quick knowin what ur painting helps, have all ur paint and color cans ready...for me im a lil extream i do alot of my graffiti on highway median walls(middle walls) yes having to dodge traffic, and run to the walls now i have been brushed by a semi truck (b/c there isnt to much space from the middle of the highway and wall...
as for going over someones other work. that happens alot. most OLD painters liek my self. dont go over anyones work (of someone that we know are REAL graff writers) but for people we call TOYS (basically kids that are tryin to get into graffiti) think its easy for them to make a name for there self to go over all work...that just makes "beef" between that person and the persons work that got coverd. but also there is also battles. where some guys go over each others work all the time. like who can get the most "hit ups"
..but basically. also a reall graffiti writer stays away from churches, and capitals etc. but eerything else is farplay
lol, sorry hun, but yes most graffiti says somthing..basuically graffiti is the NAME (nickname) o the person doin the graffiti, or somtimes its the acrynms of the CREW(not gang) graffiti crew they are with..thats the thing thoug. WILD STYLE is the main style thats crazy looking, but thats teh whole thing to make the style so crazy with the colors also to make it challengin to read. most graff writers can rea dit. but yes its fun for non-graff writers to try to read it...
lol and i wish we got free helichoppers lol. but sometimes. there are lil ledges on bridges u cant see form the road. and u can get ur tiptoes on and we hodl by that. also. on ledges of building or somthing. we can be on the top. get a busy to hold our feet while we paint up side down...as for highway signs(also known as haveans) we climb the bars and get up there) also billbaords, well some ladders are close enough to jump and grab and climb up. or if they are really high. somtimes. u get ropes. with heavy end and throw to get the ladder and climb the robe....yes alot of this is very weird and difficult and risky. but its all about art. showing those peop[le. what someone can do with a spray can. that people never thought about. sorry fo rthe bad spellin. tryin to type fast and have arthritis. if u ever wanan know more. feel free to ask....also check my pics. i jsut added, and pic of my computer desk, i sprayed painted flames on it. but yet to adda outline around the flames..its a crapy pic. its done from my camera phone...
