Fall in NY finds me back in the kitchen, and I've made it my mission to try at least two new recipes every week. I cook a lot of Thai food, but for some reason have never attempted Pad Thai. I was feeling noodley tonight and went for it. Noodles? Perfectly slippery. Tofu? Did not even fall apart in the wok! Shrimp? The wonderful orange of peak tenderness. But the sauce, the sauce! Where did I go wrong? I'm convinced my roots are too far north in Europe to ever perfect a single Thai dish. *sniff*
