I think if anyone understands this, it's you...everyone says they understand, but we were one of those couples who were just never going to break up, and then in an instant, we did. And instead of tears, there's mostly silence. I think your situation was similar, at least on the outside.
I remember that the reason I requested your friendship in the first place was because I enjoyed reading what you wrote about your break-up. You're a beautiful writer and so willing to share your thoughts. I'm sure I'll go through a contemplative stage and write a lot of things that make people say, "Wow, you're so strong!" but the reality is I have an amazing exoskeleton that I activate during times like these. Sort of the opposite of being strong.
