sometimes no answer is the best reply.

one important lesson i "got" in the past few years is that i have the right, in the truest sense of the word, to respond in my own time. sometimes the pause is the most important part of a conversation.

edited to add: i believe the fog came with the prevailing wind of weirdness, which commonly blows in from the coast.
