Well I cleaned up and out the cat corner from beside me here. I left it all there for a couple of days at first out of my own inability to want to rush in to making this place look like no cats lived here, and secondly because I was concerned that Morgan would be forced into noticing if I removed Neems food bowl, litter box etc.

A couple of weeks ago, I ran out of cat food for the steamboat, and there was NO WAY I was going to feed him any of that hyperallergenic friskys crap. That meant that the poor little guy went hungry for an entire day because I wasnt able to make it to the vets before they closed one late night at work. That weekend, to ensure that that would never happen again, I went in to the vet and bought the Mormon bombshelter load of cat food. A big bag of the dry hypo-allergenic and 20 cans of the wet. Cost around $50.

I hesitated for a second as the wait, what if you get a kitten thought ran its course through my brain and then threw the litter box out in its entirety into the big BFI bin out back, and opened the cupboard to the stock of food. Theres an elderly woman that lives down the hall from me, you could call her the cat woman, because she is the one that is consistently feeding the back alley strays, and I believe she has about 4 cats of her own in there. She hasnt been doing too well in the last year or so, ever since she slipped on some ice out back and broke her arm. I just loaded up all the food, and placed it outside her door along with the rest of my clumping litter.

When I walked past her door later, she was just leaving to go for one of her many strolls up and down the hallway (to no doubt eavesdrop at everybodys door. She does that a lot. Ive seen the inside of her ear through my peephole.) as I walked past her door and said hi, I saw all that food stacked up in her entrance. So thats good. I would have been choked if some bastard had taken it away from her door for their own greedy use.

I swept and mopped and put a Yucca plant where the litter box used to be, moved the easel into the spot where his food bowl sat, and you cant really tell there was ever anything there except for that. I suppose Ill be cleaning up cat hair from places for the next 8 months, but that forced labour I just went through is supposed to make me feel a little better. I think it worked. I know hes better now.

As far as Morgan being sad and noticing that Nemo is gone, I cant really tell. Thats a good thing. Perhaps his day is different now, maybe he spends all afternoon whining and pacing around, but I dont think so. I think Nemo had been sooo reclusive over the last 6 months that Morgan didnt see much of him either. Thats my story and Im sticking to it. I refuse to put my own perception into Morgans, and I am going to continue to just think that he doesnt notice.
Much.

Heres a pic of him from yesterday morning, defiling my freshly laundered bedding with his sleepy saliva. I hadnt even got the pillow cases onto the pillows before he got up there. Thats a queensize bed. You can imagine that he hogs it quite well.

I always seem to catch him in that pose.

Ok. I am running late. This is going to be a wet ride into the office this morning. Its a rainy one. Right now though, that doesnt matter. I have been having a great fuckin week at work as my little automation robot has been slowly crawling to the surface. The people who need to notice have been noticing, commenting.
Those raised eyebrows from a few weeks ago are now raised not out of incredulation, but perhaps more out of a pleasant surprise, and thats a good thing.
