what a swell guy I am.

As usual, I put money on our visa, ( we had a joint visa together, and she is sure that everything on it is mine. Ok whatever, I'm not going to fight over it. I've knocked it down from $1000.00 to $200.00 in the last 3 months) and I also deposited money into her account again as I promised to do each month.

As I was walking out to the truck on Friday morning, I noticed the insurance tag on my licence plate co-incidentally had the same date as Friday. Oops, insurance expiring Nov 19th.
Then with my own vet bills from last week (I had to take my cat Nemo in because for some reason his body is getting covered in what I can only relate to excema, and his half siamese voice of compaints over that itchy scenario is starting to make my heart beat really fast and loud, poor little guy)

That was only $200, and all the tests and an overnight visit couldn't locate a cause for it. Simply switched him to hypoallergenic food and see what happens.

I just woke up this morning, stumbled my sleepy ass self into the kitchen to make coffee, and was shocked to see his head poking out of the entrance to his covered litter box.
He's sleeping in his litter box. That can't be good. He's never done that before. Maybe at 14, he's getting senile?

he saw me looking at him and opened his mouth with what should have been a good morning meow, but no sound came out.

So why am I so swell?
I guess because I put somebody first. It's important to me that I continue to keep my promises to her, continue to treat her with respect, and that means I don't skip out on doing the things I said I would do. Even in the face of the nasty treatment I am getting from her, the results of her selective portrayal of my actions to the people that used to be my loved ones, I am plowing forward with it.
I suppose another guy, or hell, even another me in a previous time, would have taken into account that nasty treatment and used it for justification to reneg on these financial promises, even if it was just for this one month,
But now here I am on a fresh Monday morning, getting ready for work, she's at her apartment practicing her death glares in the mirror for the next dog exchange which should be in a few days, and I'm scrounging for bus fare.
