Actually I have had it happen. When I still had the ball python he was a total asshole snake, and we had two incidents before I got rid of him. The first time he got out and started hissing at me, I literally punched him when he lunged at me. He curled up and I grabbed him, threw him back in the aquarium and found a new way to secure it.

The second time was trickier, I was at work and had to come home to deal with him. When I finally found him he was hissing like crazy, so after I caught him I got rid of him.
