Wow---I really need to start getting to bed earlier.

It's like I'm getting old or something... biggrin

Just a quick update before I nod off. Birthday was great today. The girls at work really outdid themselves with the decorations. Sushi for lunch with a good friend.

And then coming home after class and spending an hour on SG.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Well,...

Maybe a few hours for you, speedy! tongue

Well if you're ever up this way, we should go out drinking and make fun of the young people. Yes I know I'm young, but I have an old soul when it comes to laughing at people.

Maybe someone can answer this for me:

Why do I wake up early after nights that I drink?

Given no external stimuli, on a normal morning I will wake up between 8:30 and 9:00. On mornings after I drink, I wake up between 6:30 and 7:00. And I'm talking wide awake.

I've been up since 6:40.

Had a great time last night. Five of us...

I've been there to the Irvine Spectrum. I have a client out in Irvine and one night we went to Dave and Busters. I have only been to the Yard House in the day though. I am curious how it is at night?
Usaully, if drink lightly I too wake up earlier than I should. I think because the beer helps me fall asleep faster; therefore, I wake up earlier and shit.

*side note*
I was just looking into cracking some WEPs in my building. I have no experience in hacking, so I thought this would be a good exercise. You informed me that you were doing some research on this, so I will let you know how it goes.

Reminder:

The Yardhouse
Irvine Spectrum
Saturday, 29 Jan, 7:00

I will probably be the only one with a yard of something that doesn't look like piss-water.

The plans for tomorrow up until the evening festivities include:
- Cleaning my area of the house
- Doing my laundry
- Going in to work for about an hour

And I'll only be able to sleep in until...

Celebrating your birthday a few days early? Congrats. smile

As bean said, though, we've got plans to see an old friend tonight -- bean is forcing me to brave the crowds of Silverlake hipsters that are apparently taking over Echo Park bars. puke

i think i would have needed a big head start to make it today. hope you had fun. smile

Sleepy...

Had class this afternoon---University Foundations. We went through a myriad of topics tonight, but I'm assuming that pretty soon I'll figure out what the actual meat of the class is going to focus on.

After that I went over to a friends house and watched Cruising, with Al Pacino. I have officially seen more than my fair share of men's bare asses---and I'm...

Tired today.

Not a lot going on. Doing some fun things at work, involving new wireless cards, a cantenna, and a recent Live CD.

Congrats to Shalome on her new job!

Hmmm... That's all I got. :p

You're Invited!

To celebrate the beginning of the last year of my third decade, a few friends and I are getting together Saturday night at the Yardhouse at Irvine Spectrum. We'll be there around 7:00-ish.

If you're in the area, feel free to stop by!

So I've shared before that I do all of my journal entries in vi before I post them....

Captain's log, CPU Time: 3:45 point 31

Nothing much happening. Had quite a nice chicken curry for breakfast. Walked about a bit.

I love the old stuff. And this old stuff as well.

Nothing like the tale of Luke Vaxhacker to spend some idle time before bed...

It's Manda's birthday today---go give her some love!

Worried about freakqueen.

Had a picnic today with my son and a friend of mine from work. Got tired way too quickly running around chasing him---I'm unbelievably out of shape. frown

Fed ducks our leftover french fries.

Amen to the simple things being the most rewarding. On Sunday, Bean, Margot_Dent and I got some croissants and tea and had brunch at the beach in perfect weather and amused ourselves with seagulls and sand. It was a perfect day.

And no, haven't heard anything about the interview yet. Still hoping. There's another reason I wouldn't be able to easily get back into the "good stuff," even if my conscience could handle it... I'll tell you privately.

Heh... well, I do get to build servers. wink And work in coldfusion or php occasionally, but good lord I fucking hate it. wink One of these days I'll either dive back into the industry hardcore -- or get out completely. Right now I'm just kinda treading water.

I spent part of today (when my son was napping) filling out tests/questions on OkCupid. Not because I'm actively looking for someone to date, but because I enjoy taking tests and answering questions. Sad, I know. smile

So, to get more questions out of the way:

Stolen from Manda, from a long string of other sexy women. Good thing I'm here to completely...
